What is included in a website redesign?

A website redesign from AM Marktech includes an audit of the current site's traffic and content, a new information architecture, fresh design and front-end build, a full URL mapping with 301 redirects, metadata and structured data migration, performance work, and post-launch monitoring in Search Console so nothing quietly drops out of the index.

Most redesign horror stories are the same story: a beautiful new site launched, and traffic fell off a cliff because URLs changed and nobody mapped them.

We treat a redesign as two projects running together — a design project and a migration project. The second one is what protects the value you already have.

What's included

Pre-launch audit

Which pages earn traffic and enquiries today, and which ones should not survive the move.

Content consolidation

Thin and competing pages merged into stronger ones instead of being carried across out of habit.

New information architecture

A structure that matches how people search rather than how the company is organised internally.

Design and build

A modern, fast front end that keeps what already works about your brand.

URL mapping and 301 redirects

Every old URL mapped to its best new equivalent, tested before and after launch.

Metadata and schema migration

Titles, descriptions, canonicals and structured data carried over and improved where weak.

Performance pass

Images, scripts and fonts optimised so the new site is measurably faster than the old one.

Post-launch monitoring

Search Console coverage, crawl errors and traffic watched closely for the first weeks.

Who this is for

  • Businesses on a dated or slow site that still earns traffic
  • Companies that changed positioning and outgrew their old messaging
  • Sites that lost traffic after a previous redesign or migration
  • Teams moving platform — WordPress to modern stacks, or onto Shopify

How we work

  1. 1

    Benchmark

Record current rankings, traffic, top pages and conversion rates so the move can be judged honestly.

  2. 2

    Plan

New architecture, page inventory and the full old-to-new URL map.

  3. 3

    Design and build

The new site built in parallel while the old one stays live.

  4. 4

    Migrate

Redirects, metadata, schema and sitemap deployed together at cutover.

  5. 5

    Monitor

Coverage, crawl errors and traffic tracked daily for the first weeks, with fixes shipped immediately.

Frequently asked questions

Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?

A redesign can affect search visibility, especially when URLs, content or performance change. URL mapping, redirects and metadata migration reduce avoidable risk, but rankings cannot be guaranteed.

How long does a website redesign take?

The schedule depends on page count, content changes, integrations and migration complexity. It is confirmed after the existing site has been reviewed.

Should I keep my existing content?

Keep what earns traffic or enquiries, merge what competes with itself, and drop what nothing links to and nobody reads. We decide that from data, not opinion.

Can you redesign without changing the platform?

Yes. If your current platform works for your team we redesign on top of it. We only recommend a platform move when the current one is actively costing you speed, cost or capability.

What happens to my old URLs?

Every one gets mapped. Direct equivalents get a 301 redirect to the new page; retired pages redirect to the closest relevant page rather than the homepage.
